This is the nerve wrecking moment when a pilot skillfully carried out an emergency landing in his replica Spitfire without any landing gear.
He was flying above Sibson Airfield when the pilot found out he could not release the landing gear and in response radioed airfield Emergency services. He had to keep circling the airport to burn excess fuel in the tanks, whilst skydivers at the airport had to wait 20 minutes whilst he circled.
When the plane came down it slid along its belly for a few seconds before stopping. Whilst it was sliding across the floor it had the propellers fly off..
The pilot got out of the aircraft unharmed and walked from the incident.
