For one week the Monaco Government and The Chinese Association of Monaco have collaborated to bring the Principality a delightfully insightful cultural event. The Chinese Festival Monaco has been organised to celebrate the growing number of Chinese residences within the principality as well as celebrating its prosperous business opportunities and the cultural relations between Monaco and China. According to Catherine Fautrier, the Chinese are looking to invest outside of China and believes that Monaco would be the ideal location to facilitate both their professional and personal requirements. Considering that China is home to over 300 billionaires, Monaco looks as though it would be a perfect match for one of the most affluent countries in the world in terms of business development.
The festival which continues until the 20th of February will celebrate all things China, including; Chinese cuisine, crafts, martial arts, opera, song, dance and folklore. During the festival, there will be a number of exhibitions which will revolve around the Chinese cultural theme. The Galerie du Quai Antione will be showcasing its exhibition of “China Today”, which will display a collection of photos that tracks and analyses its country’s cultural development for the past 30 years. In addition to this there will be several public performances that will celebrate the variety and excellence of the Chinese culture. The Lantern Festival and Chinese Village are set to be the highlights of this fantastic weeklong event. If you’re a fan of Chinese cuisine, then head on down to Café de Paris where four fantastic chefs including Wang Feng Shun Li and Luo Yu Lin will be present to demonstrate the fabulous flavours of Chinese cuisine.
